Sam’s Club is a membership-only retail warehouse club owned and operated by Walmart Inc. It was founded in 1983 and named after Walmart’s founder, Sam Walton. Sam’s Club offers a wide range of products, including groceries, electronics, furniture, and more, at wholesale prices. Members can also access various services such as pharmacy, optical, and tire and battery centers.
Sam’s Club itself is not an insurance company and does not sell car insurance, but if you become a member of the club, you can get significant discounts when you buy car insurance from many insurance companies. Sam’s Club has collaborated with several top-rated insurance companies to offer its members exclusive discounts and benefits. This approach allows members to access competitive rates and comprehensive coverage options without Sam’s Club directly underwriting the policies.
In 2014, Walmart, the parent company of Sam’s Club, launched a partnership with AutoInsurance.com to provide a comparison shopping service for auto insurance. This service allowed customers to compare quotes from multiple insurers and purchase policies online. While Sam’s Club does not offer its own auto insurance, it provides various automotive-related benefits to its members, such as discounts on tires, batteries, and rental cars. Since 2014, Sam’s Club has also partnered with Aetna to offer a private healthcare exchange for its members, demonstrating its commitment to providing valuable insurance-related services.

Sams Club Auto Insurance Reviews
- I discovered yesterday that my auto insurance (Progressive) gives a nice discount if you have a Costco or Sam’s Club membership. It’s their 2nd best discount after AAA membership. How much of a discount? Oh, only about $95 every six months! So with that alone my Costco membership has more than paid for itself after only half a year!
- I wonder if this will work for Geico… I have a Costco and a Sam’s Club card.
- Costco membership can get you lots of other discounts with other companies. And I’m sure the same is true for Sam’s Club membership.
- These tire ppl will be the reason why I don’t renew my membership and just start shopping at Sam’s. The info they gave didn’t make no sense. I had to go to Discount Tire so why keep paying for Sams club?? I’ve been getting patches for years and have never heard the idiotic stuff they stated and I feel they just didn’t want to do NO WORK! It’s all good! Watch me go to Costco from now on!!!
- Don’t waste your money on Sam’s membership. Their free tires rotation is a scam, for you to buy tires at their stores. They require the cards and you physically here in front of them at the store everytime you need tires check and rotation. It’s way easier & efficient to buy tires at other places, so you won’t physically being tied to this vehicle everytime the vehicle needs a maintenance.
- Great experience with JJ. He looked at my car and solved the issue immediately.
